The project comprises the development of a new contemporary residence originally planned for a lot in the Bridge Crossing subdivision in Raymond, Alberta, Canada.
The residence was designed as a bold but simple traditional and contemporary hybrid form to address a design program accommodating a family of six at full build-out. The design is a counterpoint to what is expected to be a typical subdued suburban street presence of spec-houses. North light and keen views to south green space organize the principle fenestration directions. The structure and materials of the interior reveal the tectonics of construction and an honest, raw manner, crafted from inviting hewn or simple finishes exposed to make the home comfortable, low-key and livable.
Initially, two versions of this home were concieved - a flat roofed scheme and a peaked roof fitting of fast-tracked modular construction off site. The latter design concept was developed into a full construction drawing package with a second roofline option as well.
If this residential design is of interest to you to develop (or modify) and construct on an appropriate site (urban in-fill or otherwise), please contact our Director of Design and Principal Architect, Spencer Court. We would be happy to discuss the construction drawings available which can be tailored to your personal taste, provide further details on the ideal lot required and deliver this project in partnership with a qualified builder.
