PARK(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks.
PARK(ing) Day is an annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces – temporary public spaces. The project began in 2005 as a way to promote the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate about the creation and allocation of public space, and to improve the overall quality of the urban realm.
Date: Reclaim your city the third Friday in September.
Theme: Cha[lle]nge – design challenges us to dream bigger and push ideas further in order to change the way we experience and interact with our surroundings.
One One Ten will each be granting an award of $500 to put towards material costs.
